Sensory Sunshine for Seniors is a project that has been shaped by our boards experience working in assisted living and memory care settings.  As staff in these communities, helping a resident by engaging through sensory activities and seeing them light up and experience positivity is rewarding. Meeting them where they're at and having different ways to engage is so important.

We want to make these sensory environments an option to have brought into communities. An immersive, armchair exploration of sights, sounds, smells, textures and tastes!  Exploring memories, storytelling and whimsy as a part of this project brings so much joy! Not only can this help seniors with dementia in the moment,  sensory activities help reduce agitation and anxiety, helping the resident feel more safe and secure.

Using Sensory Sunshine for Senior’s services is an opportunity to change up the day, and let your residents be immersed in a sensory environment. This chance at immersive armchair adventure allows residents who experience difficulty going on outings the chance to experience fun new things while still having access to the day to day care they typically receive.

As a team who have spent time working directly with seniors affected by dementia, we have curated these experiences to meet their enrichment needs.  We are well versed in accommodating our activities to reduce anxiety and agitation in the moment while still providing a worthwhile experience.

As Sensory Sunshine for Seniors grows our goal is to be able to offer an immersive experience for seniors across the front range.  For communities bringing us in, our pick up and go immersion kits will be quick to set up, easy to clean, and  take down to reduce the time in your community that we’re not directly serving your residents.

In addition to themed programming, we will bring tactile sensory items to help your loved ones fully engage with the immersion experience.  These tactile sensory items are curated to encourage feelings of calmness and a better mood for your love one.
